my mom, turning up “we will rock you”: football babey!
me, internally: straight people think they understand queen which is cute
it’s gay pride darling
LGBT person chiming in: Queen has been and always will be for everybody - gay and straight.
Is Freddie Mercury a gay icon? Absolutely. I adore Freddie. He is one of my favorite musicians that’s ever inhabited the planet. My straight father adores him. It’s a passion we share. When I listen to Freddie’s music and watch him perform, I’m filled with a sense of wonder. There will never be anyone like him. He was a rock god and a legend.
The things Queen did with music is mind boggling. Go back and listen to some of their stuff with just the vocals. It’ll blow your mind. For example - Under Pressure https://youtu.be/TLJo8vmEcus. It’s incredible.
Go look up the rock genres Queen influenced. Here’s a brief piece from Wikipedia:
“Queen have been credited with making a significant contribution to genres such as hard rock and heavy metal.[249][309] The band have been cited as an influence by many other musicians. Moreover, like their music, the bands and artists that have claimed to be influenced by Queen or have expressed admiration for them are diverse, spanning different generations, countries, and genres, including heavy metal: Judas Priest,[310] Iron Maiden,[311] Metallica,[312] Dream Theater,[313] Trivium,[314] Megadeth,[315] Anthrax,[316] Faith No More,[317] Melvins,[318] Slipknot[319] and Rage Against the Machine;[320] hard rock: Guns N’ Roses,[321] Def Leppard,[322] Van Halen,[323] Mötley Crüe,[324] Steve Vai,[325] the Cult,[326] the Darkness,[327] Kid Rock[328] and Foo Fighters;[329] alternative rock: Nirvana,[330] Radiohead,[331] Trent Reznor,[332] Muse,[333] Red Hot Chili Peppers,[334] Jane’s Addiction,[335] the Flaming Lips,[336] and The Smashing Pumpkins;[337] shock rock: Marilyn Manson;[338] pop rock: Meat Loaf,[339] The Killers,[340] My Chemical Romance,[341] Fall Out Boy[342] and Panic! at the Disco;[343] and pop: Michael Jackson,[344] George Michael,[345] Robbie Williams,[346] Adele,[347] Lady Gaga,[348] Katy Perry,[349] Kesha,[350] Grimes,[351] and Psy.[352]
In the early 1970s, Queen helped spur the heavy metal genre’s evolution by discarding much of its blues influence.[353][354] Queen’s 1974 song “Stone Cold Crazy” has been cited as a precursor of speed metal.[355] Metallica recorded a cover version of “Stone Cold Crazy”, which first appeared on the Rubáiyát: Elektra’s 40th Anniversary album in 1990, and won their second Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 1991.[356] Thom Yorke of Radiohead received his first guitar at 7 years old, encouraged after seeing Brian May in a broadcast of a Queen concert.[331] At 10 years old, Yorke made his own homemade guitar, trying to imitate what May had done with his Red Special, but he was not satisfied with the result.[357] Subsequently, Queen was one of the first influences in the music of Radiohead.[331].”
When you stop and consider everyone Queen has touched with their music, every artist and every person (gay, straight, or however they identify) they have influenced in some fashion, it does Queen and Freddie a huge disservice to try and tell someone that they can’t somehow understand or enjoy Queen’s music simply because they’re not gay because a movie came out in 2018 highlighting the fact that Freddie Mercury, lead singer of Queen, was bisexual. Did we feel that way about Queen’s music before the movie came out?
How about we remember how much Freddie loved his fans and embrace each other? I think that’s a great way to remember the man and band who brought us such amazing music. ❤️
this is the money dog, repost in the next 24 hours and money will come your way!!

This won’t make your blog look ugly. How could you not reblog this? REBLOGGING THIS COULD SAVE A LIFE!!!
This goes for assholes, too, guys. I know a couple who went tubing once, and they had to re-air their tubes, but the guy thought it would be funny to stick the tip of the air compressor up to her bikini trunks, the air ruptured something inside her and she died within thirty minutes.
WHAT?
The thing about this? It’s in every pregnancy book I’ve read.
WHAT?????
Why is it in pregnancy books but not sex ed books?
Because the men in charge only care about the health and safety of women in so far as it enables them to have babies.
Reblogging with a link because I thought this was a legit joke. Never heard it before. Like I knew you could kill a person by inserting air into a vein but still.
WHAT THE FUCL I hate how I didn’t learn this in sex Ed AT ALL
This is very true lol
Excuse me, what?
